Our Wine Cellar

Vicki is a certified vintner with much expertise in pairing wines with the foods at Lone Cedar Café. She keeps the wine cellar stocked with the finest wines, perfect for pairing with the fresh seafood, steaks, poultry and pork served at the Lone Cedar. The cellar houses 2,000 wines at the perfect traditional temperature of 55 degrees.

The Naming of The Osprey Lounge

In 2004, Marc put up a tree just outside the windows of the Lone Cedar Café with the hope an osprey would build a nest. Indeed, just two years later, Ricky began flying in with twigs, driftwood and seaweed, and before long Lucy was sitting on her eggs. Ricky and Lucy have come back each year to the Lone Cedar Café to raise their young. In honor of their return year after year, Vicki decided to name the Lone Cedar Bar the Osprey Lounge.

The Boat Wall

Unique to the Osprey Lounge is the Boat Wall, designed and painted by the Tillett sisters, cousins of the Basnight family. The wall features more than 100 Outer Banks fishing and charter boats dating back to the 1940s and showcases the fishing vessels of many well-known Outer Bankers.

Entertainment

As if watching the jet skis and boats, the osprey flying to the nest with fish and the beautiful marshes at dusk is not enough entertainment, the Osprey Lounge also offers an array of live music. Entertainment varies, so please call for the latest information or check out outerbanksthisweek.com. Three big screen televisions always feature the best in sporting events. Cheer your team to victory while enjoying the nightly bar menu and the company of happy friends – both brand new and tried and true.
